The Western Cape Wetlands Forum will be hosting two wetland training sessions this year in cooperation with SANBI, FRC, DEA and SAEON. These workshops will take the place of the quarterly meeting during that period, and will, therefore, each count as 0.5 SACNASP point.

Training session 1: A 1-day introductory session on wetland delineation
When? 8 August 2019
Where? Harold Porter National Botanical Garden (Betty’s Bay)
Details: Do you wish to understand wetlands better? Join us to learn how to identify a wetland by using wetland indicators and describe them according to their type. The day will include a glimpse on riparian ecology vs wetland ecology.

Training session 2: A 1-day introductory session on WET-Health
When? 5 September 2019 (tentative date - TBC)
Where? Harold Porter National Botanical Garden (Betty’s Bay)
Details: Learn how to use the rapid health assessment tool of wetlands in South Africa, using hydrological, geomorphological and vegetation indicators.

Booking is essential, and there is a maximum of 30 participants per training session. Bookings close 1 Aug 2019. RSVP to Philip (philip@frcsa.org.za). The following entrance fee at Harold Porter garden applies:

· Adult (18-59 years): R28.00
· Seniors (60 years plus): R18.00
· Student (with valid card): R18.00
· Learners: R10.00
We hope you are able to join us.
Best wishes,
